Operations and Administration

The Department of Tourism is responsible for the development, promotion and management of tourism activities and destinations across Oyo State. The Department works to enhance the visibility of the State’s tourism attractions, promote sustainable tourism development, encourage investment and improve the overall visitor experience. It also supports tourism programmes and initiatives aimed at contributing to the State’s economic and socio-cultural development.

The Department of Culture is responsible for the preservation, promotion and development of Oyo State’s rich cultural heritage. It coordinates activities that showcase the State’s traditions, arts, festivals, indigenous practices and creative expressions. The Department also supports cultural programmes and initiatives that promote cultural identity, heritage conservation and the growth of the creative sector.

The Department of Planning, Research and Statistics provides the Ministry with the information and analytical support required for effective planning and decision-making. It coordinates planning activities, conducts research, collects and analyses statistical information, and monitors the implementation and performance of programmes and projects. The Department also prepares reports and provides evidence-based information to support policy formulation and institutional development. Most importantly prepares annual Budget Estimates of the Ministry.

The Department of Administration and Supplies provides the administrative and operational support necessary for the effective functioning of the Ministry. It oversees personnel administration, general office management, records, supplies and other administrative services. The Department facilitates the smooth coordination of the Ministry’s activities and ensures that the necessary human and material resources are available for efficient service delivery.

The Department of Finance and Accounts is responsible for the financial administration and management of the Ministry. It oversees budgeting, financial transactions, expenditure management, accounting records and financial reporting in accordance with government financial regulations and procedures. The Department promotes accountability, transparency and prudent management of public resources while providing financial support for the implementation of the Ministry’s programmes and activities.
